Welcome to The Ham’er!
I am Mary Kate Feeney, the writer behind The Ham’er.
Every Monday I write a letter to you, my fellow Framinghamers (wait, is that still a thing?) about what is going on in our city’s government and civic life. Each issue is 3-5 top stories written in a concise, easily digestible format for people to quickly consume.
If you have been an observer of Framingham politics, you know there is never a dull moment. I started this newsletter to keep track of and share the goings on in and around the Memorial Building, and try to make sense of what is going on with my own commentary.
Framingham is changing. And with that change, is a need for everyone to be in the loop.
When I am not writing The Ham’er, I am the founder and chief strategist at my agency, Dockside Media, working with business and non-profit community leaders tell their story online. Civically, I am the chair of the Strategic Initiatives and Oversight Committee, co-founder and chair of Friends of Framingham Trails, and on the board of Framingham FORCE.
And in those moments were I am not writing, speaking, or volunteering, I can be found playing my guitar, listening to The Beatles or hanging out with my beloved rescue black lab, Jack.
Why The Ham’er?
The Ham'er is proudly local, a bit bold, and here to hit the nail on the head. I’m not just covering Framingham politics; I am breaking it down, hammering out the hard truths, and sparking real talk. If it matters to you, you’ll hear about it here, unvarnished and straight to the point.
How You Can Help
I’m building a community here with The Ham’er.
There are many ways to get involved:
Share the issues with friends, family, neighbors. There is so much going on in Framingham - friends don’t let friends not know about what is happening in their own community.
Share your opinion in the comment section in each issue. Let’s start a great conversation. Jump into the comments.
Support the work. Because a paid subscriber today. For $8/month or $80/day, your support help me grow this newsletter. Plus, you get a neat Ham’er mug!
Message me your events, tips and questions. Every month I put out a guide to that month, filled with events, volunteer opportunities and meetings. Submissions are always welcome.
